Bound to follow mandate of Constitution, says RS Prasad to states against Citizenship Amendment Act

New Delhi, Jan 01 (ANI): Union Law and Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on January 01 slammed the state governments which are raising their voices against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). He reminded Indian Constitution articles like 245, 246, etc and said that there is a Constitutional obligation on every state to exercise the executive power in such a way that ensures compliance with laws made by Parliament. " I again repeat all the state governments which are talking about not enforcing it (CAA) for political reasons need to know that once they become the part of the government having taking oath under the Constitution, they are bound to follow the mandate of the Constitution," said Prasad.
